As a striker, I’ve always admired those who came before me, those who set the bar high and pushed the boundaries of what’s possible. One such legend is Alan Shearer, the Premier League’s all-time leading goalscorer. The comparisons between us are inevitable, and it’s an honor to even be mentioned in the same breath as such a prolific goalscorer.

Different Players, Same Hunger for Goals
While there are similarities in our playing styles – the power, the directness, the hunger for goals – we are ultimately different players. Shearer was more of a traditional number nine, a target man who could hold the ball up and bring others into play. I, on the other hand, am perhaps more mobile, more comfortable running in behind defenses and using my pace to stretch the game.
However, what we both share is that unquenchable thirst for goals, that desire to be in the right place at the right time to put the ball in the back of the net. It’s that hunger that drives us both, that pushes us to constantly improve and strive for greatness.
